I was laid off yesterday from my job working on the website for Martha Stewart Living. Started as a freelancer in late 2010, accepted a full-time job, survived many layoffs, and then moved to a different corporation to work on the same media property.
I was shocked but not surprised when I was let go. Corporations have their own financial logic, and I've known this for a long time. Fortunately my editorial colleagues took me out to lunch after I packed up and offered to help out however they could.
Anyway, enough about the past... I'm looking for a job!
I've been a digital producer for a decade. Experienced with content management systems like Drupal and WordPress; a generalist with an eye for detail who is good at editorial and has enough technical knowledge from working on personal projects to understand what programmers are saying when they talk about front- and back-end development. I would appreciate any leads in NYC -- either job announcements or friends of yours who are in digital media who are looking for experienced producers.
