Just discovered A Fine Frenzy and then learned that the musician behind it -- Alison Sudol -- has moved on to acting.
I know that artists are people and that they have to follow their own paths, but as a listener I feel covetous. I want them to keep "serving" the art that has moved me.
I've been on the other side. I've published an astrology blog for a decade, and used to co-host a podcast. Recently a reader asked me to resurrect the podcast with my co-host. I adore my co-host but the last thing I want to do with my time is record an astrology podcast. Been there, done that. It's not where my heart is.
Limitations are an inherent part of life. I just have to appreciate something knowing that there will be no Factory churning out more of the same. Our culture tends to have a consumer mindset about artists and doesn't always respect that they're not here to meet our needs.
